I’m the Complex Pitching Coordinator for a MLB team. The Venn diagram above represents what I do. I sit at the intersection of the Pitching Delivery, Pitching Analytics, and the Mental Game.

You don't have to pick between Old School and New School. Coaching is a blend; It's an art.

Relationships / People Skills are important and a big part of coaching. You can have all the knowledge in the world, but you must master the delivery of that information to be successful.

As a pitcher, if you could exploit the game by identifying how your pitches play in and around the zone, why would you not make that your top mission? This type of work is not a guess – it’s science.
